Ruby Rae Cowell passed into Heaven on December 6, 2024.  Ruby was a loved and cherished Mother, Grandmother and Friend who always sought to help and assist others. She modeled her life to follow Christian principles, demonstrating her love of her Heavenly Father and her friends and family.

She was the devoted wife of Charles E. Cowell with whom she shared 52 wonderful years of marriage.  Born on August 31, 1930, Ruby was the daughter of Willie and Dora Collins of Stonington Colorado, where they lived as farmers during the dust bowl days. She had one sister, Wilma, who has since passed. Ruby became a registered nurse where she cared for patients in hospitals and clinics in Colorado Springs, CO.

Ruby loved the Lord, and much of her time was spent helping others in their own walk with Jesus. Her Bibles were worn, as she had memorized much of it; her greatest joys were to love her family well, to pray for other people, and to see God at work in growing her plants and flowers.

Ruby's memory will always be cherished by her family: son Bill (Linda) Cowell of O'Fallon, MO; daughter Annetta (David) Phillipi of Quincy, IL, and grandsons Luke (Rebekah) Phillipi of Aurora, CO; Paul Phillipi of Napa, CA; and Stephen Phillipi of Louisville, KY.

Funeral services will be held in a small, private ceremony for family members at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home in Troy Missouri. Memorial gifts may be made to a ministry she has supported for many years called Victory Village, a home helping struggling girls come to know Jesus. Their mailing address is P.O. Box 2068, Hutchinson, Kansas 67504-2068.
