Sherry L. Kempfer, 73, of Foley, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2026 at her home.  She was born on Dec. 31, 1952 in Kansas City, MO to Floyd and Mary (Penning) Patten.  Sherry grew up in Bridgeton along with two siblings: Mary and Becky.  She met her future husband, Richard A. Kempfer, while in high school.  On June 30, 1972, they were joined in Holy Matrimony in Florissant.  To this union were born three children: Ricky, Ryan and Sara.  The family resided in Florissant for many years  and later relocated  to Foley to enjoy country living. Sherry was a go-getter and sold real estate while raising her growing family.

Sherry's hobbies included engaging in craft projects, home improvement shows, and enjoying BBQs with family and friends. Her primary focus was always her family, including her husband, children, grandchildren, who were truly blessed to have her in their lives. Sherry will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her devoted husband of  53 years, Richard Kempfer; her loving children: Ricky Kempfer of Bridgeton, Ryan (Patricia) Kempfer of Wentzville, Sara (Michael) Thorp of Troy;  her father, Floyd Patten of Whiteside; her adoring nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  She is further survived by her sister, Becky (Ed) Kempfer of Whiteside; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends

Sherry was preceded in death by her mother Mary Patten; her sister, Mary Lasek and her grandson, Hunter Thorp.

Memorial service to follow at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026 at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, Troy location.  Rev. Dr. Jeff Moore to officiate.
