Shirley Louise Montgomery, 98, of Troy, Missouri, passed away in her home on Saturday, November 4, 2023.  She was born May 14, 1925 to Walter and Florence Schaper.

Shirley graduated from Buchanan High School and married Dallas Montgomery, Jr. on January 26, 1946.  As a mother to three children, she spent many years as a homemaker, later working at Trio Shop, then Boatman's Bank of Troy.  She also faithfully volunteered at the Bread for Life Food Pantry for 15 years.

She enjoyed reading, playing cards, golfing, and traveling.  Most of all, Shirley loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, her family and her friends.  She had a gentle spirit, a loving heart, and was always willing to serve.  She had the gift of hospitality and often opened her home to visiting ministers.  As an active member of her church, she could often be found serving behind the scenes wherever needed.

Shirley is survived by her two children: Patti Phillips and husband, Bill; Jim Montgomery and wife, Judy; four grandchildren: Wendy Roche, Scott Rayfield, Chris Parker and wife Ivey, Amy Stephens and friend Ryan; 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren: Reagan, Savannah, Gideon, Bellamy and Raelynn, two nieces, one nephew, other relatives and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dallas; her daughter, Sue Montgomery; her sister, Ilah Marie Allen, and special granddaughter, Jamie Montgomery.

She was dearly loved by her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

Graveside services to be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Zoar Cemetery in Troy off Hwy J.  Officiating:  Pastor Joseph Britain.
