About Us
Dedication To The Families Being Served
At McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, we are completely dedicated to the families in which we serve. We have a spacious facility and have the ability to have 4 services at one time. We also have a lounge, with a refrigerator, coffee maker, and an area that you can bring in food. There is a spacious banquet room that can accommodate up to 60 people. We have 3 locations to serve your family, Troy, Hawk Point, and Bowling Green, MO. Also we are the ONLY funeral home in Lincoln County that owns and operates our own crematory. We do not do cremations for any other funeral homes, only for which families that we serve. Our Troy facility has been in business for 43 years, and is owned and operated by the Blossom family, Jim and Mari Blossom, Sarah Blossom-Horn and Lisa Blossom Payne. We have a compassionate, dedicated staff, and we are very blessed to have them.
The Funeral Director's Prayer
Dear Lord,
Give me the patience needed to serve everyone as my own;
the wisdom to understand other's feeling;
the knowledge to learn as well as instruct;
the kindness to treat everyone equally at all times;
the strength to endure long hours and hard work;
the desire to serve others as I would my own family;
the humility to accept words of thanks and praise;
the compassion to be able to touch another's soul;
the pride and the right to smile when I have served a family well;
and, Lord, most importantly, the right to shed an honest tear when my heart is touched.
Lord, make me thankful that I am a Funeral Director.
Amen
Statement of Consumer Awareness
The McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, know that in today's times, typically consumers shop before they purchase any services or goods of substantial cost. Because we respect this practice and the intelligence of the consumer, it is McCoy-Blossom's policy to offer and disclose our most economical prices. McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory takes great pride in the quality service and merchandise offered. It is our policy to render the most professional service at the least amount of cost to the consumer. If however, it can be documented that we are not the least expensive for equal quality goods and services (locally), we will match the "documented cost" as reflected on the competitor's general, casket and outer container price lists or a documented estimate.
Our Beginnings
The McCoy Funeral Home was established in July of 1933. Wayne McCoy, a licensed embalmer & funeral director, along with his wife, Helen, ran the business for many years.
In January of 1982, Jim Blossom and his wife, Mari, and their daughters; Sarah and Lisa moved to Troy, where they purchased the McCoy Funeral Home. At this time the name was changed to McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home. Jim, a licensed embalmer and funeral director, and Mari a funeral director, eventually went on to purchase three other funeral homes, located, in Troy, Hawk Point, and Bowling Green, MO. Several years ago, they purchased their own crematory. We are the only 100% locally family owned and operated full service funeral home, and crematory in Lincoln county. We do not perform cremations for any other funeral homes, other then the families we serve. That means, your loved one never leaves our care, ever. Collectively the funeral home has been in business for over 86 years, family owned and operated.
The Blossom family and our associates strive to provide the most compassionate services to you and your family. Our funeral home is not just our business, it is our life. We realize that consumers have a choice, and it is the most astute honor for us to be chosen. The Blossom's all live in Troy, Sarah and Lisa attended Troy schools, and grew up in our beloved Lincoln County, as did our grandchildren. Our dedication to serving families with love and kindness is our first priority.
